Um... that's not at all right. lscomics is short for Lake Shore Comics which is the name I've been using since I got into the hobby. I'm not very well known outside of the Midwest (Indiana, Illinois, Michigan area) being that until now I pretty much stuck close to home. :thumbsup2:

You won't see me in the pics from NY, I'm not there. I had to come back to Indiana this week to tie up some loose ends before going back to Florida. :disappear:

Ah, right, you're the foreign editions guy. My apologies, thanks for the clarification.

when people list their CBCS slabs on ebay make sure to add a blurb about the company and who Borock is so customers will feel secure about the new slabs and new company.

Ah, I guess that explains it. He looks a lot more professional than the image of him I had in my mind. I hope you're feeling better Mr. Post.

I'll make CBCS an offer - if Borock cuts his ponytail off, I'll never sign up a name on the CBCS chatboard :P

I imagine this has been answered already, but what happens if I were to submit to CBCS a book that already has a CGC cert / label? Will CBCS send the label back to CGC for me, or do we run the risk of having the same book showing up in both the CGC census and CBCS census?

I'm worried that we'll no longer be able to even partially rely on census #'s for graded material any more. Unless we have one shared census, I'm assuming statements like "highest graded" and "1 of 4 in grade" is probably a thing of the past.

The census is already useless unless it shows none to only a handful of books exist in grade. But then again, "only one in 9.8" mean absolutely nothing as who knows how many 9.8 copies of something are floating around out there just waiting to be discovered.

I heard the STL comics website had gone away, so I checked to see if the link I put in the original post was still working. Indeed, it's not:

http://stlcomics.com/columns/ironslab/IV/

Apparently there was a wealth of information kept on their boards, and I don't know if this is a temporary thing

The site seems like it is either going through a loop or is having DNS issues. It is still there just not working right...

If the CBCS board was open we all would know about it, regardless of the invite.

It's just not open yet!

Coming Soon!

They put Calamerica in charge of it, so it'll cost you $700 if you want to join their exclusive chatboard.

I'm skeptical of the necessity of yet another comics message board. But it's in the interest of the business to have one so I guess they'll do it. Perhaps they can start the lifecycle of the new message board discussing the same things we started out discussing on the CGC forum 10+ years ago!
