FTG's 1st submission

Postby FrozenTundraGuy » Fri May 15, 2015 6:55 am

I finally decided to send in a couple of books today.

Book 1: Tales to Astonish #34, should hopefully grade out somewhere in the 5.0 to 6.5 range.

Book 2: Sonic the Hedgehog #2 (1993 limited series of 3 books).

I chose Fedex, as it's slightly cheaper, and if I'm not home when the book is delivered, I only have a 15 minute drive to pick it up at the local Fedex distribution center.

Do you have any scans of the books so people can guess the grades?

I do have some scans. The scan for Sonic #2 does not show one small spine crease of about 1/8 ", that does not break color.

Books are still in the safe, two weeks have dragged by. I think I have stumbled onto a way to make summer last longer. :secret: Time goes by slower when your waiting for a book to be graded, encapsulated, and returned. :geek:

The books delivery has been attempted. I will have to see if I can pick them up on Monday. Last chance to guess the grades, before I post the books.

Finally!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the grades for both books. :flowery: The books are still encased in a light plastic cover over the holder, no point in scratching the cases immediately.

For Sonic #2 I was thinking about 9.0, with 8.5 being the worst case.

Tales to Astonish #34, was much tougher to estimate. I had hoped to obtain at least a 6.5, but would not have been too surprised with a 5.5 either.

Thanks! I should note that the scan of TTA #34 was done in the bag (the comic not me  ) leading to what appeared to be several wavy lines and what looked like two large creases across part of the book by the spine. The photo of the encapsulated book shows those "defects" do not exist.

Congratulations Dale! I had the Sonic pegged at 9.6 but the TTA I had at 8.0. Nice looking books regardless. :flowery:

Thanks Tim,

That make me wonder if my two other early TTA's might be worth submitting.
