I just read the Bleeding Cool article, what a bunch of whiny bitches some of those responders are. "I'm being harassed by Liefeld"

And those tools really have no idea about PGX. This post had me rolling:

"How can Jeff reply to this posting after the COA? I believe Justin Edwards PGX management from @pgxcomics wouldn't ruin his reputation to actually verify the "verification process." I'm sure PGX use's the same technology as CBCS to verify signatures, or even a closer connection to these artist somehow. PGX has been around way before CBCS, a bit after CGC began"

And when did PGX start issuing COAs? That's a red flag tight there, no?

I wonder if these were blanks signed by the artists and then sketched on after. This might be the same as that blank Stan Lee sig that the guy then had Stan drawn getting his brains bashed in by Negan. If so, that's another reason to not sign blanks.
The top one doesn't look like a comic cover, tho.

I would like to think that after the Stan cover, blanks would no longer be signed. Maybe this will do it, assuming that's what's happening here.

These cover sketches are constantly being referred to as "OA". I have to disagree with that.
While it may me an original in the sense that it was drawn by hand on the cover, "OA" is a term used to describe art on paper used to make reproductions for publishing.

These are cover sketches. Odds are the same pose redrawn many times.

While I'm griping; many sellers keep calling the MULTITUDE of cheesecake art clogging eBay's OA section as "OA".
I call these drawings Fan Art.

Probably the only VSP art I'd even consider are from people who have passed away or is rare like Ditko. Even then, "buyer beware".
I doubt I'd touch VSP blank with Sig & Sketch, as I'm sure a witnessed copy is also available, but that's not really an issue since I'm not really a fan of the blank cover sketches- Nothing AT ALL against them- some look great, and I think giving some really talented 'unknowns' a way to get their art out there in some comic book form is pretty cool.

The quick character sketches by creators on these covers do nothing for me either. Again, nothing against them- Just not my thing.

The two funniest posts in DB's "most buyers don't care about grade" thread:

Comic_book_man: "These days print runs are huge..."

KingNampa: "@DocBrown Did you have a bad experience with an eBay buyer?"

Those [eBay sold] prices for CBCS books are appalling and shocking. This was during a prime peak week just in time before Christmas deadline, too. Amazing. I have lost my faith in CBCS labels. Sorry. You're screwed if you ever want to resell your books.

Your results may vary.

So much grumbling from, I guess it's fair to say 'formerly', loyal CBCS customers.

I can understand dealers or sellers growing tired of CBCS due to TAT's, and I can understand people being nervous that some of their keys have been switched in allegedly easy-open slabs, but I'm not seeing anyone complain that the grades are decidedly 'wrong', or that their personal collection books aren't safe in the current slab.

I wonder what the priorities are among collectors that use CBCS. They're probably the ones who don't post.

Is this something new? Can anyone get their name on a slab? What gimmick will CBCS try next?

I think I read some posts about this. I can see the logic in it if a slab collector feels relatively confident the slab will remain in their collection. If some do it just for the novelty of it, and later try to sell them, good luck.

Exactly. They're setting themselves up for more drama down the road from people who will try to profit from their "names".

I wonder how many of the "self righteous holier than thou indignants" that fled CGC when CBCS opened its doors will now crawl back to CGC with their tails between their legs?
For shame doc. Huntin' rabbits with an elephant gun.
Ewephant gun?
That's right doc. So why don't you go shoot yourself an elephant?

Not that I was making plans, but if I were, this is the straw that crippled the camel.

Or more accurately, these are the straws.

I suppose shipping errors can happen with any grading company but having two complaints of mislabeled packages in two months isn't good.
