Can someone please post pics of the encapsulation machines? I've never seen one and sincerely want to. For your troubles...

Are there pics on CGC's site? Has anyone ever seen pics of them on any site? I Googled and searched for awhile and found nothing. :please: post pics of the encapsulation machines or tell me where to find pics, in exchange for Spider-Woman, thank you.

I may be wrong, but I have a feeling both companies consider those machines proprietary information, that's why you can't find photos.

Check CGC's Facebook page, apparently they "walked us through" the whole CGC process using a Bone #1, and a somewhat obscured encapsulation machine was shown.

Why are some comic collectors so proud to have fake OCD? Is it cool to pretend to be mentally ill?

There you have it the encapsulation machine is just a made up name for a Branson 2000iW Ultrasonic Plastic Welder. There's a used one on ebay for $17,500 and I'm guessing new $25 to $30,000. Damn, imagine the damage you could do with one of those. I figure the welds would take a few seconds to cure if not longer. Put in your book, heat it up in the welder, quickly pry it apart, switch out the label or the book, put it back in the welder and then seal it up with the fake book or label inside. Voila, you did it, you're rich.

I have to admit, I envisioned something where the CGC employee slides the book carefully into a machine through a slot, the machine starts making noises like whizzing and whirring, maybe some steam pops out, a whistle blows, and voìla (NOT "wah-lah," people!) - your comic emerges out of the other side of the machine, freshly encapsulated.

I think I like my machine better...

Same here. I was always picturing this high-end piece of equipment that lovingly processes your book in the gentlest of ways.

Now I get it when they say 'backed up in encapsulation'. That's code for ' operator's busy in the bathroom.

Hi Superior Spider-Man. I don't remember you being on the green team. Were you green yesterday? If so, I must be smoking too much, if not, congrats on the promotion.
