Re: How do you feel about destroying counterfeit comics?

I don't care either, they're already in the marketplace, it's not like the creator was going to generate any revenue from them on the secondary market anyways. I could see trying to get them destroyed if someone was just putting them out there now, but it appears these books are a number of years old.

Re: CGC headache, was I in the wrong?

I just wanted to make people aware of the current practices going on there so that it may act as a warning to someone thinking of submitting to them. Well you certainly haven't accomplished that. Instead of giving us the name of the person who actually caused the issue, you insist on blaming a part...

Re: De-Pressing

For reasons like this, I have put a complete stop to adding books to my high grade collection (haven't purchased anything in almost a year). While I don't have a problem with pressing, per se, I do believe this influx of "press anything and everything" crowd isn't good and will dilute the ...

Re: CGC headache, was I in the wrong?

Not gonna name or blame the facilitator. I have heard from him this past week. And as stated in the email from CGC there was a death. I do not blame him, so I won't name him. Great, now let's hear you say CGC wasn't at fault either and you don't blame them. Who published the comics you submitted? Y...

is Fables any good still? I dropped all new books with the last price increase a few years ago but thought about picking up some Fables graphic novels to catch up.

Re: CGC headache, was I in the wrong?

As I said, I had one book lost after it shipped. The only reason I was ok in the end was that the guy that sent it in did a stand up thing and fixed the problem out of his own pocket even though CGC screwed up and did not own up to it. I still have yet to see anything that would make this look even...

Re: CGC Turn Around Times slip still further out

If you ship many packages the private insurance pays for itself many times over. You have to read your policy and know what limits there are. As value climbs your choice of carriers and services get more limited. My own policy if I have a package with more than say 5K it starts making sense to go a...

Watched the 3D version, never really look at any of the extras. There wasn't a ton of obvious 3D content like some of the other movies made for 3D have.

Re: CGC Turn Around Times slip still further out

When I was submitting books to CGC, before their turnaround times became ridiculous, I sent the books via USPS registered mail with full insurance. Cost was around 40 dollars and I didn't have to worry about finding some third party comic insurance coverage that included shipping insurance. I would ...

Re: De-Pressing

CGC's trimming detection methods aren't 100% yet they are happy to give it their best opinion. I believe that if CGC had thought of pressing as a bad thing rather than the boost to their business that it is then they would've been trying to detect it and after all this time would've probably found ...

Re: De-Pressing

I guess I don't see how that would in any way be a deterrent. Continually saying they're working on a remedy just sounds like the boy who cried wolf, say it enough times and no one is going to believe you. So pressers would still submit their books, see that they're getting the grades they expect an...

Re: De-Pressing

Not even talking about being able to detect it - although one of my favorite sayings is "if Borock hated pressing as much as he loves it, we'd be able to detect pressing by now". No, what I'm talking about is how CGC should have handled it right from the beginning. CGC should have come ou...

Re: De-Pressing

Pressing sucks! If CGC wasn't so greedy, they could've really helped the hobby out by being anti-pressing when they started, but since Borock likes pressing so much, it wasn't to be. Now CGC has helped screw up the hobby even more. Thanks assholes! What is your solution for detecting it consistentl...

That's too bad, you must not have been around to hear the adage; "buy the book, not the label". Based on your scan, you can see the color touch on the front of the cover?

This is really weird. I was just about to write a post saying that CGC deleted the thread that explained it all, and that the link from the old Wikipedia page said "Access Denied". But I happen to click the link, and it took me to the thread  http://boards.collectors-society.com/ub...
