Re: Good Morty- Good gravy!

Wow! I've watched Rick and Morty.. been listening to Harmontown and finally broke down. It funny and some of the details in the worlds are great.. but I don't know about the rabid fandom that has grown around it. $100 for a mini comic from a DVD? Really? And we are counterfeiting both the DVD and th...

Re: New case 4/4/16

So I just got my first New CGC case off eBay this week. First off I did like that it felt more sturdy and all of that but then when I went to scan the book in to my inventory I noticed the waviness of the book..ugh.. Obviously I'm of the opinion that this is actually damaging the book. Is that still...

Re: Shiny Object Syndrome

I think some of my thing is that these outside goals make it fun for the hunt. Going into a theme or something like that can expand what you end up looking for. I started off with the idea of getting Death's Head's first appearance and ended up finding out that he went from Transformers to Dr. Who a...

Shiny Object Syndrome

Does anyone else get this? I'm mainly a Spider-Man collector.. BUT... I want to do a small collection of First Published issues from some of my favorite creators, or some Dave Stevens/Rocketeer books, or old Valiants, or Death's Head books. And the list goes on. And I wonder why I'm not filling hole...

Re: How do you organize/inventory your comics?

I have been using Collectorz for 10+ years now. I think the biggest issue people might have with it is that they don't do values. Other than that I think it does a great job. They have a mobile app and a web site that you can use instead of the desktop application. You can also use all three and syn...

Re: Should I get this comic signed?

First off it is your book. Do what you want with it. If you love the book and want Marv's signature on it then go for it! If it is for resale then maybe not or it depends. Stan Lee is a good example of a signature that goes on books that he didn't directly work on. I think that some of the Stan Lee ...

Re: New case 4/4/16

yeesh... I've been away from reading the CGC boards for a while. This doesn't look like a great start with the new slabs. Is it still just a visual thing and not a damaging thing like the old "oil spots" from the previous cases? The old oil spots weren't a damaging thing, it's the same th...

2015 Year In Review

So I figure that I won't be getting any comics over the holiday and figured that I would do a little Year in Review... I'm mostly a Spider-Man collector but I a little bit of Spider-Man collecting this year. I ended up getting a bunch of different minor collecting goals. I have a list of favorite ar...

Re: Witchblade #1 question

From what I've heard many of the European comics that have US stories in them actually have multiple stories in one book. I use Collectorz for my cataloging and the forum over there has a good number of European users that describe this sort of thing. I used to have a Thai Punisher comics that was W...

Re: OFFICIAL STANDINGS THREAD 2015 SUMMER/FALL CLASSIX

That was a lot of fun! I did a lot better than I thought I would. I usually end up in the lower middle of the pack. I think I end up getting graders fatigue and spend 5 seconds and just get the grade out there. I think as long as I keep up with the books as they come out I do better.

Re: OFFICIAL STANDINGS THREAD 2015 SUMMER/FALL CLASSIX

Interesting looking at the results.. The WD #1 seems to be the "easiest" book with 8 on the nose and only one not in the 1s. On the other end that Cerberus #1 killed everyone. It was a tough one to get right.

Re: Discussion about sealed (polybag and DF) comics storage

I'm slowly moving my books over to Mylite2s and Full Backs. Polly or DF books will get pulled and put into the mylars. Anything else that was in there (COAs, posters, animation cells, etc.) will stay with the book on the back of the board. That way everything stays together.

I'll throw in on Alan Moore as well.. Watchmen and V for Vendetta are both good reads and better than their respective movies. For some stupid humor go for Scud: The Disposable Assassin - The Whole Shebang. I just looked and it is pretty pricey on Amazon but I'm sure you could find a good price on i...
