Re: ouch-cbcs screws up

Well can they at least say how an amateur can do leaf casting, pieces added, spine reinforced etc? When leaf casting, paper is added to the edges and trimmed back. If the paper is trimmed back too far and the edge of the original paper is so much as nicked, the book is "trimmed." Trimming...

Re: CBCS talk

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. So I just received my first CBCS slab that I purchased off of Ebay. I was excited to finally get one of these in my hands. Until I noticed a problem. I could see a pretty noticeable issue. It looks like there was some kind of crack on the edge. Where the crack...

Re: Number 6's CBCS Submission and Analysis

Email you invoice number to me at sricketts@cbcscomics.com and I'll get our Web developers to see what the problem is with updating and reporting. It's hard for us to know of these types of problems because we can't see them from our end.
Thanks!

Re: Current CBCS Turn Around Times

I still want to hear from one of the Steve's about how they took the 50k book collection and said that it isn't going to mess with turn around times and then about a week later they quadruple the grading time. Turnaround times have been behind. We didn't quadruple the grading time overnight. We jus...

Re: CBCS Forum, and counterfeit book questions.

DiceX, I have a couple questions for ya. I'd ask it on your forum but it still says "Launching Soon" after several months. This leads me to my first question... Do you have a tentative date in mind when your chat forum will be up and running? You and another CBCS employee have posted &quo...

Re: Current CBCS Turn Around Times

We have hired several new staff members, including an additional grader (still looking for another Modern Age one), as well as added additional staff and equipment in slab. Graders specialize by era? This I don't quite get. Grading is grading. You either know what you're doing or you don't. We coll...

Re: Current CBCS Turn Around Times

Hey guys, I just wanted to apologize for not getting back with you, but we've been extremely busy. We are in a very unique situation right now because of our problem with material. We still don't have all the sizes of our inner sleeves, so we have orders being held because we're waiting on the right...

Re: Current CBCS Turn Around Times

Is it time for CBCS to update the turnaround times on its website? I am very happy that CBCS fixed the plastics issue and willingly halted slabbing temporarily to do so. A much more serious issue may be the grading backlog generated by 'catastrophic success'. Since modern (non expedited) subs are n...

Re: CBCS talk

So CBCS participates in chat boards? CBCS has a couple of reps here I think... Dice is the only official CBCS employee here, I believe. I'm here occasionally too. Although I just officially started September 24th. :hi1: You work for CBCS too? The user Timely is also a grader for CBCS here... I thin...

Re: My first submission...

Let me see if I can un-complicate it then: When Jason contacted them about the inner well problem, CBCS asked for permission to refund/replace if the book was found to be damaged. Jason agreed. At some point while with CBCS, the book was damaged. CBCS didn't contact Jason to inform him that the boo...

The impression I get from Prophet's comments is that he was completely unaware that the book was damaged during encapsulation before he received it in the mail. Nor was he aware that CBCS was going to provide a replacement book. The offer to replace or refund was actually made awilee ago when I sen...

Jason, Sorry I've not replied to this yet. I've been trying to orchestrate the New York Comic Con. It's a madhouse! Your book was reviewed after receiving and was found to have damage. It was supposed to have been replaced with a new copy in equal or higher grade. I found the new copy but accidental...

CBCS Grading Seminar?

This was posted on Facebook, but I thought I'd give the people here a heads-up in case there was interest. In response to a post here on the CBCS Comic Collectors Club about “wish I could grade comics” (thanks Daniel Schoultz) Steve Borock, president of CBCS has agreed that if sufficient interest ex...

Re: News from CBCS

Are you taking the comics in the order they were received in mail or by the submitted date? Reason I ask is because I shipped my comics for pressing and its looking like they will be there alot longer than I thought. Our turnaround doesn't start until we receive the books. We can't adjust for the t...

Thanks! Good process info to have. Is there a chance that contacting the submitter prior to finalization will ever be an option? I know 99% of my signed book are the real deal, but I have a couple (one by Harlan Ellison[?]) that I can't be sure of. I realize this would probably require adjustments ...

Hey DiceX, With the fantastic success of CBCS is it a possibiliy in the future to consider getting a larger slab for magazine/odd sized goldens?????
